Evanston Service
The Evanston Line runs north from Howard Street through Evanston and to the south city limit of Wilmette.  At rush hour trains run through to the loop, but at other times a shuttle runs from Howard north to 4th and Linden in Wilmette.

Until a few years back, Evanston was a trolley equipped line, with the cars changing from third rail to trolley at the first stop north of Howard.  Now it is third rail all the way with some interesing gates of a Cyclone fence type that are normally closed across the tracks, but swing out out of the way when a train approaches.
