Connecticut Company
New Haven Division
Broadway marked the junction of the Dixwell Avenue and Whalley Avenue lines;  Edgewood Avenue (until October 1936) came in on Elm Street and joined the Broadway lines at York Street.  The Shelton Avenue line used Dixwell Avenue to get to Shelton Avenue.  The Yale campus is primarily between York and College Streets;  at the time of the photo, the only Yale building near 1183 was the Payne Whitney Gym. 1183 was an ex-Bridgeport car that came to New Haven in 1934.
