303 & 1512 at Maryland & 1st Street
The trailer to the Gay Nineties Train was 1512.  This oddity gave Capital Transit/D.C. Transit the oddity of having 2 active cars with the same number. Both Gay Nineties cars were donated to the Smithsonian, 303 was restored, but 1512 still languishes in the Smithsonian's attic. 303 is trapped in the Smithsonian's amber, never to feel 600 volts on its motors again.
