1846 7th St. would have to be closer to the intersection than this photo shows.  Perhaps the store moved between 1948 and the late 1950's, when these photos were taken.  The road in the distance appears to be diagonal, that would make it 7th St. & Rhode Island Ave. NW.  I'll have to do more investigation -- this is NOT a frequently photographed part of the DC streetcar system.
