TRACTION AROUND NORTH
AMERICA
Here's a special photo:
it isn't every day you see a streetcar smile. This is Shaker Heights
Rapid Transit #4662, formerly Toronto Transportation Commission #4662,
built as Cleveland Transit System #4237. It is a 1946 Pullman-Standard
PCC car, and its many years enduring the Toronto salt has resulted in an
extremely weak structure. Having been stored on a farm near
Buckeye Lake, Ohio, for
about 15 years, #4662 is - for all intents and purposes - unsalvageable.
