TRACTION AROUND NORTH
AMERICA
This wooden combine is Oregon
Electric #65, built by American Car Company in 1912. After OE passenger
service quit in 1934 this car was demotorized and sold to Skagit River
Railway, where it was #16; in 1955 it was retired and sold to the Willamette
Valley Electric Railway Association. It later spent time at the Vernonia
South Park & Sunset Steam Railway before being acquired by the Black
Hills Central in Hill City, South Dakota in 1970; it is now stored at the
BHC.
