Chicago Surface Lines 4001 is an all-aluminum experimental
pre-PCC car built in 1934 by Pullman-Standard. Only one example of
this type was ever built. CSL 4001 ran until 1948, when it was retired
and made into a yard shop. The body is now at the Illinois Railway
Museum awaiting restoration.
