The Key System
A rare photo of an eastbound “H” train at Hopkins Street in Berkeley. After crossing Hopkins, the train will run on Monterey Ave. to Colusa Ave. The Monterey Ave. trackage was built by SP for their California Street Red Train line. The photo was probably taken between 1938 and 1941 (when the trains were discontinued).
