Los Angeles Railway
461 at the Union Station Loop
July 10, 1947
One of the last rebuildings done to the Standards, this is a type BF car.  The BFs and the BGs (which had two rear doors on each side) were the last of the Standards.  As can be seen from the photograph, the final modernization included treadle operated rear doors and air operated front doors, both sets with folding steps, and lifeguards in place of those magnificent but cumberson Eclipse fenders.  As was the case with the H classes previously mentioned, white roofs very quickly
gave way to tan (sand color) ones.
