Los Angeles Railway
560 on Route A
1946
I'd love to have that dash
sign. Clinton and Virgil was the closest point the cars came to my
second home in LA, and I spent a lot of time "helping" the conductor or
motorman walkover the seats there as they changed ends. My mother
finally learned not to send me to the store, as it was at, guess where,
Clinton and Virgil. In those days milk was not well refigerated and
was packaged in glass, and more than one quart spoiled sitting on the sidewalk
at that storied intersection. I believe this car is westbound on Temple
St.
