Los Angeles Railway
562 on a fantrip
October 13, 1946
This is probably on Marmion
Way, and in the background we find rising Mt. Washington (not to be confused
with New Hampshire, I assure you). At one time, this line (the W in regular
service) connected to the Mt. Washington Incline RR, one of several that
were built in LA. LA did have an unique solution to the incline problem
in downtown, where there once were hills on either side of Hill Street
(how odd). They simply removed the hills, both Broadway and Bunker.
(The present Angels Flight is but a shadow of the former scope and slope
of the operation).
