Los Angeles Railway
950 on Route H PRW
February 16, 1947
For those that missed an
earlier discussion on this topic, 950 was the second rebuild of the funeral
car Descanso. The first rebuild retained the arch windows and stained
glass, and people refused to ride it, so it
came out looking much more
like a regular passenger car. When this car was built, it took the
name Descanso (rest in peace, basically). When the Descanso became
the 950, the other funeral car, the Paraiso (paradise), became the Descanso,
the car that was at Summit and is now at Orange Empire.
