Los Angeles Railway
1237 on Route 8 at an unknown location
February 16, 1947
A viewer commented "I like the 'Bugs Bunny' traffic signal (did they really go 'clang' when they changed?) In fact, they did make an acoustic bell noise.  This was the quintessential Los Angeles traffic light for years.  When I was a paper boy, selling on a street corner, I discovered how to short them in the STOP position for the street on which I was selling (the Herald-Express, I think it was), which allowed me to accost many more drivers than I otherwise might have.  My papers were delivered, incidently, by a person driving a Ford Model B.  Wish I had one of those now.
