Los Angeles Railway
1291 on Route U at 1st Street
& Bimini Place
Same fantrip as the previous
picture. The car is turning into a loop. The location was generally
known as 1st and Vermont, a short turn loop for the V line in later years.
The U line never went within miles of this location. Bimini Place
just short of 1st St. was where the H line right-of-way ended. The
H line had passed by Bimini Baths, a wonderful plunge and natatorium in
the manner of Sutro's in The City. That location is two block to
the left of the photo. There was a decent hot dog stand built within
this loop, the 1st St. trackage of which was constructed after the H line
was abandoned.
