1415 on Route 7 at Kansas
near 47th Street & Vermont
Same trip, same story...this
is the 9 line right-of-way, and I think the car is westbound. This
trip may have been the day after abandonment of a number of lines, maybe
5-23-55. LATL management was good to us, I have to admit. Car 1415
was chosen because it was the highest numbered of the H-4s. The next group
of H class cars, known as H-3s, were fully enclosed and had faux leather
seats, along with the more modern "faired in" route indicator, which could
be changed from the inside. These cars had been modified for use
on the very long 5 (E) line, LARy's "interurban." See the next shot,
LATL 1417, to see the external differences.
