St. Louis Museum of
Transportation
Kirkwood, MO
These are the remains of
St. Louis Public Service #1001, a streetcar built in 1907 by United Railways.
By now, the roof of the car has rotted away, as have the windows.
It is stored near the tunnel mouth at the Museum of Transportation.
It should be noted that this car is NOT typical of the MoT collection,
but rather is one of the unfortunate victims of the neglect that dogged
the museum during the 1960's and 1970's. Even the current hardworking
MoT volunteers are likely to find this specimen irreperable.
