St. Louis Museum of
Transportation
Kirkwood, MO
This monster is the only
surviving four-truck electric interurban
locomotive. Illinois
Terminal "Class C" #1595 was homebuilt by IT
predecessor Illinois Traction
System in 1910, and is the only surviving
representative of the IT's
largest class of electric locomotive. It was
retired in 1956 and acquired
by the Museum of Transportation, which began a complete cosmetic restoration
during 2002.
